Polymaker - Polymide PA6-CF Black

PolyMide™ PA6-CF is a PA6 filament (nylon 6) reinforced with carbon fibres, which has excellent thermal and mechanical properties without affecting the layer trapping.

On the printer table, PolyMide™ PA6-CF can be printed on almost any surface with a thin layer of PVA adhesive or Magigoo PA. The use of flexplate is recommended to facilitate removal of the model from the table.

It is important that the printhead is wear resistant, as PolyMide™ PA6-CF 20% contains chopped carbon fibre, which is abrasive. This material can easily damage the copper print nozzle after only a few hundred grams of printing. Hardened printheads are more expensive than conventional copper printheads but are more durable, so it is important to consider the amount of material to be used.

Polymaker recommends that all models made with PolyMide™ PA6-CF should be post-cured, as this allows the full mechanical and thermal properties to be exploited. During curing, the model is placed in an oven and cured at 90 °C for 2 hours.
